The Rouen was first breed in France in the 1800's this breed is often used for meat production. The drakes colorful mallard markings make it sought after for decoration purposes as well. These birds are good foragers. Average weight is 7-8lbs. with larger standard bred Rouens weighing in the 9-12lbs range.
